• 1 1/2 oz. Modern Matriarch Salted Caramel or Modern Matriarch Amber rum
  • Boiling water, for serving
  • Whipped cream and cinnamon stick, for serving, optional
  • Butter:
  • 1/4 lb. butter
  • 1 lb. dark brown sugar (2 1/2 cups)
  • 1/4 t. cinnamon
  • 1/4 t. nutmeg
  • 1/4 t. cloves


For the butter mixture, add all ingredients into a medium bowl and mix with a spatula until well combined. Transfer mixture into a container and refrigerate until ready to use.

For the cocktail, add heaping tablespoon of the butter mixture into each cup followed by 1 1/2 oz. rum. Next, add enough boiling water in each cup to melt the butter and stir. Top with optional whipped cream and cinnamon and you’re ready to serve!
